Manoj Sawant (34), a tenant at the transit camp, said, "We do not have water connection in all the flats and so we have to go to our neighbour’s house to fill water or we have to step down and fill water from our society’s tap in the basement.” Also, the 24-storey building has three lifts and the residents allege that they do not function properly nor are they maintained by the Mhada. There are times when they have to use the stairs.Suresh Nagap (51), another tenant at the transit camp, said, "I stay on the 13th floor and use stairs when the lift is not functioning. 

We have senior citizens and pregnant women in our society.” Amit Bhasharkar, executive engineer at electrical division, Mhada, said, "The contract to maintain the lifts is given to a private company and it is their duty to repair and maintain lifts.
